Wood Chipper Price Guide

Learn how to compare industrial wood chipper quotations on the same technical and commercial basis.

Buying guide

Why one price cannot fit every project

Industrial wood chipper price depends on more than engine power or feed opening. Two machines with a similar headline capacity may include different feeding systems, mobility, discharge conveyors, controls and safety equipment.

An accurate quotation begins with the material. Uniform logs are different from tangled branches, roots, slabs or demolition wood. Species, moisture, typical diameter, maximum diameter and contaminants influence the cutting and feeding configuration.

The capacity basis must also be defined. Ask whether the quoted tonnes per hour represents an instantaneous processing rate or sustained output over a working shift, and which material and finished chip size were assumed.

Towable industrial wood chipper configuration

Main factors that affect a quotation

Capacity and feed size

Larger or irregular material can require a heavier rotor, wider feed opening and stronger hydraulic feeding system.

Tracked or towable chassis

Tracked mobility, towable axles, brakes and transport dimensions create different manufacturing and logistics requirements.

Power configuration

Diesel engine brand, emission level, cooling and auxiliary hydraulic demand affect both purchase and operating cost.

Discharge and screening

Folding conveyors, magnets, screens and return systems should be included where the process requires them.

Spare parts and support

Knife sets, counter-knives, service tools, manuals, commissioning and training need to be compared line by line.

Delivery terms

EXW, FOB, CFR and CIF quotations cover different costs. Confirm the named port, packing and validity period.

How to request a useful price

Send raw-material photos or video, wood species, moisture, typical and maximum diameter, target tonnes per hour, desired chip size, country and site conditions.

Then review available wood chipper models and the capacity planning guide. If feeding, screening or storage is required, ask for a complete wood chip production line scope rather than comparing a standalone machine against a full system.
